—Reliant debuts rodeo-themed art contest to benefit local nonprofits—
FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Now in its 123rd year, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is
partnering with Reliant for the first time to bring a stampede of new
fan experiences to one of North Texas’ favorite events. Reliant is
kicking off its sponsorship with the “Hats off to Fort Worth” art
contest benefiting local Dallas-Fort Worth nonprofits and offering an
exclusive rodeo electricity plan that gives customers the opportunity to
grab some new western wear.
"We couldn’t be more excited to be part of the oldest livestock show and
rodeo in Texas, and at the same time raise support and awareness for
local nonprofits that are serving at-risk children and families," said
Elizabeth Killinger, president of Reliant. "Our partnership with this
beloved hometown tradition is an opportunity for us to further engage
with the communities where we live and work and offer new and exciting
options to customers across North Texas.”
The Hats off to Fort Worth art contest will showcase the artistic skills
of local children representing four charities through larger-than-life
Cowboy hats. The decorated hats will be on display at the Reliant booth
in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibit Hall. Starting Friday, January 18 and
lasting through Friday, February 1, the public is invited to visit the
hats and cast their vote for their favorite design to help Reliant award
a total of $18,500 in donations for the charities. To vote, visit
Reliant’s Facebook page at facebook.com/reliantenergy
and “like” the photo of your favorite hat.
The participating North Texas nonprofits are:
-
ACH
Child and Family Services, a nonprofit dedicated to helping
children, youth and families overcome life's challenges.
-

& Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, which works to ensure

Reliant will also help Rodeo fans stay informed with Stock Show Vision
powered by Reliant, a large portable outdoor display board featuring
news and offers relevant to Rodeo-goers. In addition, visitors can sign
up for the Reliant
Rodeo Plan and receive a $100 Cavender’s gift card to use toward
